My grandpa was born the oldest of 9 children in 1932 and spent the early years of his life on the family farm. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1952 where he was known as "Sandy" and completed his machinist training in IL. He met my grandma while he was stationed in Bermuda and they made their living farming 1,100 acres and raising livestock in Missouri. This candle is reminiscent of the summers we spent picking blackberries with him on their farm.
